Good Shepherd Local Node Installer

This page is for approved Good Shepherd Phase 3 testers who have been instructed to install the local monitoring node on a Windows test computer.

Important: Do not install this software unless you are part of the Good Shepherd testing process and have received setup instructions from the Good Shepherd team.

What This Installer Does

  • Installs the Good Shepherd Windows Local Node test package.
  • Sets up the local computer so it can communicate with the Good Shepherd monitoring system.
  • Supports camera testing, local monitoring, and alert testing for approved Phase 3 field testing.
  • Creates simple desktop controls for starting, stopping, testing, and uninstalling the local node.

Windows Download Instructions

  1. Click Open Phase 3 Installer Download.
  2. On the GitHub release page, scroll to the Assets section.
  3. Download this file: 1-Download-and-Install-Good-Shepherd-Windows.bat
  4. Do not download the Source Code ZIP or Source Code TAR.GZ files.
  5. After the file downloads, double-click it and follow the prompts.
  6. When the installer folder opens, double-click: 1 - Double Click To Install Good Shepherd.vbs
Security note: Windows may ask you to confirm that you want to run the installer. Only continue if you are installing on an approved Good Shepherd test computer.

Before You Start

  • Use a Windows test computer approved for Good Shepherd testing.
  • Make sure the computer is connected to the internet.
  • Keep the computer powered on during installation.
  • Have your location name ready, such as Office Test, Larry House, or another approved test location.
  • Do not install this on a personal or business computer that has not been approved for testing.
